From annamaria’s Desk

Sometimes I just don’t realize that my writing is improving every day. But it is. It also changes as I learn more each day.

I wrote Dragons in the Resistance several years ago. I love the story and the message I’m trying to convey to my potential readers, that’s why I’m going through it, revising and editing almost every word. Back then, I really had problems with POV (point of view). I haven’t found a single chapter that stays in the correct POV for its entirety. Found a great deal of telling instead of showing and I’m really having fun changing those sections.

I know I have a lot more growing to do, perfecting my style and my voice, but boy have I come a long way. Hopefully, next fall, I’ll have the opportunity to take a creative writing course at VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) to bring me closer to my dream of getting a masters in creative writing.

That’s all for now, I need to get back to Dragons in the Resistance.

About annamaria

Although born in the United States, Annamaria Bazzi spent a great deal of her childhood in Sicily, Italy, in a town called Sciacca. Italian was the language spoken at home. Therefore, she had no problems when she found herself growing up in a strange country. Upon returning to the states, she promised herself she would speak without an accent. She attended Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Computers with a minor in Spanish. Annamaria spent twenty years programming systems for large corporations, creating innovative solution, and addressing customer problems. During those years, she raised four daughters and one husband. Annamaria lives in Richmond Virginia with her small family where she now dedicates a good part of her day writing.
